We are committed to raising pups the right way from the beginning. Litters are born in our living room. From the very beginning we handle and socialize our pups extensively, exposing them to children of different ages, cats, and all the normal sights and sounds of an average home.
As the puppies mature, we introduce the outdoors and begin to teach the pups to follow a person and respond to being called. We begin crate training, car rides, and they get lots of playtime with the other adult dogs on our place. They get their first controlled exposures to stock.
This early socialization and conscientious puppy-raising means that your new puppy has the foundations needed to easily adapt to its new home.
We carefully screen potential homes before agreeing to sell a dog. If you contact us about a puppy, we will ask you several questions about your family dynamic, the environment around your home, and to describe your typical daily routines. Matching puppies with the right home is very important to us. Puppy temperaments and people temperaments need to match for things to work out properly! We prefer to sell to working homes that will consider the dog a part of the family.
Shipping is available from the Springfield Missouri airport, or you can come to personally pick up your puppy.
We are farmers ourselves and recognize that sometimes funds are tight. If we trust you enough to sell you a puppy, we trust you enough to offer you a payment plan if necessary. In the past we have even taken full or partial trades for farm-related items or services. Our primary goal is the preservation of the working farm dog, and that means getting the right dogs to the right homes. Please feel free to ask us about options.
Junebug will be bred on her next heat (expected in April) to an English Shepherd stud dog.
English Shepherd litter tentatively planned with our Cimarron Laura Chavez. We are currently researching the perfect sire for this litter.
We breed on a very limited basis. We often know of other breeder's plans and will certainly help you find a good dog, even if it's not from us.
